Because it is the home of the cows and cowherd people, Lord Krsna’s abode is called by the name "Goloka" (the world of the cows), and because it is untouched by matter and therefore is supremely pure, it is also called by the name "Svetadvipa" (the white island). Some few wise souls in this world know that this is the supreme, the highest realm.
